Mr. Thompson is the South Hardin Activities Director, Tiger Success coordinator, and Boys Golf coach. Mr. Thompson has been a Tiger for the past 16 years, prior to that he taught for four years at HLV High School in Victor, IA. He has been an AD for 19 years and coached for 21 years and has enjoyed teaching, leading, and working with student athletes. Mr. Thompson and his wife are both educators and coaches for the South Hardin district. They have three children and two dogs, they enjoy spending time watching Tiger athletics, being outdoors, and family time.

Mr. Thompson is a graduate of Spirit Lake high school, then went to Northwestern College in Orange City, IA to get his BA in Kinesiology, Health Education, and Coach Endorsement. Currently he is working on his Masters of Education to become a school administrator. His goal is to create an environment that creates relationships between teachers, athletics, and students that are genuine and create a learning environment that promotes student growth, engagement, and meaning for their future as college students or employees.
