ENP School Bond Vote Information

Posted Date: 10/18/23 (4:38 PM)

ENP School District Families,

Today marks the 20-day  countdown until the November 7th School Bond Election.  Click here for a two-page document with information about the projects, how to vote, and how we will pay for the project.  You can also go to the school website https://www.southhardin.k12.ia.us/ for further information and pictures showing what projects would be completed with the passing of this school bond.

Last time we held a bond election the bond failed, and one of the disappointing things we found out after the election is that the majority of our families weren't even registered to vote.  Only 28% of our elementary families were registered to vote.  We need every adult over 18 years old who lives in our district to get registered to vote and to vote on this very important school bond, which will impact #OurKids, #OurStaff, & #Our Schools for decades to come.  It isn't one vote per household, it is one vote per person over 18.  For example, If you have three adults over 18 living in your house you count as three votes in this election, and we need everyone to get out and vote.

At the ENP Elementary Literacy Night on Thursday, October 19th our families will have the opportunity to get registered to vote if they haven't already.

Next week Thursday, October 26th from 2:30 PM to 8:30 PM there will be a satellite voting opportunity at ENP Elementary School in the lunch room where anyone in our community will be able to vote on the bond election.  You can register to vote right at the school, you don't have to be registered to vote in advance.  Come vote when you pick up your kids from school or vote when you attend ENP Elementary Parent Teacher Conferences which will be taking place that same evening.  We are trying to make it as convenient as possible for you to have an opportunity to let your vote count on this very important issue for the future of #OurKids & #OurSchools.  High School Parents and all Community Members are welcome and encouraged to come to ENP Elementary School to Vote on October 26th!  We would like to have 800 votes cast before election day.

Starting today, you can go into the Hardin County Courthouse any weekday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM to Vote.  Again you can register to vote when you go into the courthouse to vote early.

We encourage everyone to get out and vote early if possible, so then you don't have to worry about something getting in the way of voting on election day.  If you do want to vote on election day.  Election day will be on Tuesday, November 7th from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM at your designated polling place in the district.

Thanks for doing your part to make the ENP School District and South Hardin Schools amazing places to raise #OurKids for generations to come.
